AVIcode: System Center AVIcode Configuration Assistant

Our first version of AVIcode Configuration Assistant has just been released! You can download it from here:

AVIcode Configuration Assistant

Now, let me explain what it is..

AVIcode Configuration Assistant is not a service(though we can offer a service, too), neither it is a miraculous application that can configure AVIcode without human intervention (nothing can beat our consultants in that). However, this tool will help you determine some of the weaknesses of your AVIcode implementation for you to be ware of them. Once you start it, Configuration Assistant will access your AVIcode SEViewer database in order to calculate a few metrics we use in our AVIcode consulting practice to quickly assess the quality of AVIcode implementations. If you fail to meet some of the criteria, it does not necessarily mean that your AVIcode implementation is totally incorrect. However, based on our experience, failure to meet them is usually caused by more fundamental issues, such as misunderstanding of APM monitoring concepts and/or misuse of AVIcode workflow.

Moreover, once AVIcode Configuration Assistant collects information about your environment, it will offer you a quick assessment of your AVIcode APM skills. That assessment includes a few questions(we don’t want to keep you there for the whole day), and, once it is complete, your assessment results will be added to the final report. If you don’t want to take an assessment, feel free to skip that step. Though.. It’s completely anonymous, so it will do no harm to you even if you find out that there is something you did not know about AVIcode.

Just so you know what the end result will look like, here is a sample report:

You may probably ask if there is anything else this tool will do for you. The answer is “not yet”. However, we are working on it – stay tuned.
